nice one!
Have you tried turning it on and off again?
Do you have UAC enabled? Try running it as administrator...
Igal,
I am trying to install it, and yes, I did it as admin
Probably you already tried => sometimes compatibility mode fixes such an issues.
Anyway - bad news. I was going to install sql2008 on w7 too.
Worked fine here (apart from the usual "you must apply SPxxx" moaning. What edition was it?
I think I had that, then tried again and it went without incident.
Had the exact same issue 3 times in a row! My trick was to only install one feature at a time...
Same on me. Tryed again and it worked.
I had the same issue, doing the "one feature at a time" trick seemed to wrok. I also had to make sure I had VS 2008 SP1 installed as well (forget to do that on new install sometimes).
I "upgraded" from RC with SQL 2008 already installed. It warned me that SQL 2008 would stop working after the upgrade, but I guess I was lucky.
I had issues with SQL08 in the past so when I got Win7 running the first thing I did was install the Microsoft Web Platform installer and let it do the work for me
I actually had same kind of problems but the reason was that I closed the installation "dashboard" application after I had selected install new or add features to existing instance from it.
Reason was that closing the "dashboard" application deleted the unpacked installation files from harddrive so the actual installation wizard could not find them anymore.
Looks like you got further than I did!
I some error about calling begininvoke without a window handle, right as I launched setup and I couldn't seem to get passed it.
My experiences with Win7 can be summed up as "It's a lot like Vista except that it crashes faster!"
