Closing the XHEO saga
I was just contacted by Paul Alexander from XHEO, telling me that he had refunded the money that I paid for their product.
That is all I wanted, and I am sorry that it had to reach this level of unpleasantness.
Thanks.

Congratulations! I kinda wonder how it would've gone for someone without a popular blog as leverage.
"It" didn't reach anything - whatever happened here only took place because you wanted it to, my friend ;o)
Got bully?
The purse fight is over. We can now resume your regularly scheduled programming.
Nice job persevering, blogs attract naysayers, and you did the right thing to ignore them.
Just out of curiosity (and sorry if I missed it) what licensing component did you end up using instead? Thanks!
He wrote his own.
Guess what: Rhino.Licensing
So, not only did they not get to keep the revenue, but they may get a new competitor out of the deal?
Priceless!
dd,
Rhino Licensing
@Ayedne
Rhino Licensing - is that available anywhere? :-)
rhino-tools.svn.sourceforge.net/.../rhino-licen...
Paul Alexander you did the right thing.
Bravo, finally we all received a patched thanks to Paul Alexander.
Out of all possible outcomes it is very ironic for them to not only lose business, lose face due to poor customer service (most likely costing further business) they now have a new FOSS (or atleast OSS depending on license with it) to compete against.
I have ZERO idea why they wouldn't go through all that and then just do what they should have in the first place. I have never seen a company go as far as to trash a customer on their website. I think Paul Alexander was the bully type in school and he's upset he lost.
Ayende's original post is now ranked #3 on google search of 'XHEO' right below two company links. No wonder they refunded!
